Gilletee nali shave madorige gotrithue yaru blade haktha idare antha ... :ghee: :ghee:
there was a meet organised by dravid-orkut community fans,to meet dravid and one of my friend had gone to see and talk to dravid...my friend told that they asked many questions in kannada, but Dravid didnt replied them back in kannada itseems....anyways there is a RARE video where Dravid is speaking in Kannada and he has spoken well there...also he has represented Karnataka in Ranji,so his contributions is there always for Karnataka
He would stoop to any levels..thu :rougefaché:
ok..Dravid is not a kannadiga and Sachin is not a Kannadiga too..
There is a rare video where Dravid has spoken in Kannada and there is absolutely no video Sachin Sachin has spoken in Kannada..
Dravid has always played for Karnataka and Sachin has never played for Karnataka..
So, these reasons are more than sufficient for Me and AONE to love Dravid more than anybody else.. :coeur: :coeur:
If I am not wrong, Dravid made his Ranji Trophy debut in 1991.
He got a chance to play in the international circuit only in 1996..
Sachin made his domestic debut in 1988 and made his international debut in 1989..
Nobody he was playing fantastically..But I remember Dravid had a great name in the early 90's when I was in my primary school..
All Thanks to the Mumbai Lobby..
I just do not want to debate anymore on this topic..
So, why did it take 5 long years for him to leap from domestic to International circuit where as it just happened immediately for Sachin?
I would say, GO TO HELL :rougefaché: :rougefaché:
Add Me as well :merci:
Amara, Dravid's domestic performance was good but where as if you look at Sachin's domestic performance in his first year, it was extra ordinary. Made debut centuries in most of the domestic tournaments like Ranji, Duleep etc in his first year. It did not take much time to catch the selector's eye. Yes there might have been extra affinity since he was from Mumbai. In fact the BCCI delayed Sachin's entry to international cricket as they thought he would be very young to face the giant West Indian bowlers in 1988. However, I feel Dravid's entry could have been a year early given his performances.
It was GR Vishwanth who was the chief selector some time between 92 to 95, then we would have to blame him for not selecting Dravid but GR Vishwanath was very good in his selections.
Sachin had shot into limelight with that 600+ partnership with Kambli..i guess even that might have helped him..
Sachin had spoken Kannada when he came to receive Rajiv Gandhi puraskar which was given by DKShi in SM Krishna's government.. He had said "Thanks for the support, kannadigas..today i learnt the word "Ellarigu Namaskara" iable:
I remember GRV was the selector who pushed for Dravid's inclusion in 95-96 time..
Am not sure if he was heading the committee till 95..
Sachin started playing well before Dravid
I stared worshiping sachin right from those days..
